Dismaland: Secret Banksy Exhibition in the Works?

Banksy’s pretty damn good at being elusive. Now it seems that he’s taking his secretive ways to a whole new level by putting together an exhibition under the cover of a movie set. More details below.

Rumored to be named after one of his artworks in 2012, Dismaland seems to be Banksy’s own dark take on family-friendly Disneyland. The set-up is located in an abandoned lido in Weston-super-Mare in Somerset, England, and residents of the town were under the impression that they were hosting a Hollywood film set when the lido, Tropicano, was closed off. The set features a metal horse, a twisted gas-tanker and a dystopian castle.

Suspicions arose when the supposed director of the “film” was questioned about the set. Declan Whitebloom, acclaimed for his work in the music industry (Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” is one,) told the media that he was never in Weston-super-Mare. Some residents also realized there was no cast and camera crew on the set. The only person seen visiting the site was reportedly Holly Cushing, who is known to be Banksy’s agent.
