Millions tuned in to stream Drake’s More Life on March 18.
According to The Verge, More Life was streamed 6.1 million times on Spotify on March 18, setting a new high for Spotify’s “single day artist streaming” record – surpassing the record previously held by Ed Sheeran’s album, Divide (56.7 million streams on launch date).
But Drake’s album shows no signs of stopping just yet. More Life went ahead and broke the Spotify record for “single day artist streams” again on March 19 with a total of 7.6 million streams.
Additionally, More Life‘s songs amassed a total of 89.9 million streams globally, within the first 24 hours of the album’s release, on Apple Music – the new single-day record for “streams of songs from an album” on Apple Music.
The album is also set to take the number one spot on Billboard’s 200 charts, making More Life the biggest debut of any album since Drake’s Views (released in April 2016). For those unaware, Billboard’s 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week.
With records broken and a forthcoming crowning on the Billboard charts, it looks like there’s more to expect from More Life.
The album is also slated for a CD and Vinyl LP release in the next coming weeks.
