Dunk Edt exhibition pays tribute to iconic sneaker

The Dunk Edt exhibition at Limited Edt Chamber runs from April 16 to 25.

Limited Edt presents Dunk Edt, an exploration of the Nike Dunk, an iconic sneaker which has stood the test of time to become one of the most sought-after silhouettes in the world. The exhibition runs from April 16 to 25 at Limited Edt Chamber at Wisma Atria Singapore.

On display will be classic colorways of the Nike Dunk from 1985 and the Co.JP of the late ‘90s that catalyzed the revival of the Dunk.

“We’ve seen over the last one to two years the revival of the Dunk, so I wanted to see if we could share some insights into this classic footwear and how it has impacted our local sneaker culture — maybe even more so than any other sneaker has. For me, personally, the Dunk was one of the drivers of Limited Edt being born,” said Mandeep Chopra, founder of Limited Edt.

On April 23, Limited Edt will also debut Dunk Edt, a short documentary depicting the rise in popularity of the Dunk in Singapore, the birth of the Nike x SBTG Dunk SB collaboration, its current revival and what the silhouette means to new generations of Singaporeans.

“We hope to rekindle this nostalgia in the older sneaker heads and set the stage for a newer generation to appreciate the story behind what is probably the most important sneaker in the birth of the local sneaker culture as we now it today,” Chopra said.

In addition to insights from the Limited Edt founder, you’ll also hear from Mark Ong of SBTG and Sebastian, one of Limited Edt’s first employees.

Look out though for Daniel Tan (we previously featured his eye-popping collection), said to own one of the most OG collections of the Dunk, and another OG sneakerhead and his family of sneaker enthusiasts, including his young daughter. Some personalities from the newer generation of sneakerheads also make the cut, representatives of the torch being passed over.

Vintage now

In conjunction with the exhibition, Limited Edt has collaborated with Foxtrot Uniform to pre-age nine different colorways of the Dunk, giving the latest Nike Dunks a “neo-vintage” look. These pairs will be available via ballot at S$299 and S$329, for the low and high cut models, respectively.

Limited Edt will also be retailing Foxtrot Uniform’s fade-away shoelaces in both 120cm and 170cm for S$21.90 and S$24.90 respectively & sneaker stainers and socks for S$24.90 each.

Dunk Edt by Limited Edt Chamber runs from April 16 to 25, 2021.
