Air Max Day, which happens annually on March 26, may have passed, but the celebration goes on. Jeff Staple has us salivating over the pair of the upcoming Atmos x Air Max collaboration sneakers he showed off on Instagram. While the chosen silhouette – the Air Max 2 Light – is lesser known, Atmos’ striking rendition with glossy patented uppers breathes new life to a classic. Here’s the good bit: there’ll be more where that came from. Part of Nike’s Air Max collaboration sneakers this year includes spin-offs by Clot, Heron Preston and Cactus Plant Flea Market.
Heron Preston’s vision sees him combining the classic wavy uppers of the Air Max 95 with the Air Max 720’s robust Air unit. As if there wasn’t enough Air to begin with, the uppers also come wrapped in Nike’s revolutionary Air technology. The best part? You can customize these yourself when it drops on April 15.
Clot reworks the Nike Zoom Haven – first introduced in 2000 – with the iconic Air Max 97’s full-length Air unit. Dressed in a Volt colorway, this is one rendition to watch out for come May 8.
The Air Vapormax may have gone through several revamps and collaborations, but nothing quite like this. Cactus Plant Flea Market sure knows how to energize a muted Vapormax colorway. Pay attention to the two-toned Air soles and the glow-stick like attachment tracing the shape of the Swoosh. We reckon these will spark a snaking queue outside DSM stores when it lands on May 14.
