Opening its doors to the public for the first time, the Maison&Objet Asia 2015 trade show will showcase decoration and design from prestigious brands and designers. Here are some highlights you mustn’t miss while you’re there.

Maison&Objet Asia has been a platform that puts the spotlight on talented designers, and this year’s edition is no different. Six Rising Asian Talents have been chosen to represent their countries and showcase their works in a specially dedicated section of the exhibition hall. Designer of the Year

The Xi’an Westin Hotel, designed by Neri & Hu Design and Research Office

Chosen from a pool of exceptional Asian designers who have made a distinctive mark in the world of design, Maison&Objet Asia’s 2015 Designer of the Year award goes to the highly lauded Neri & Hu Design and Research Office from Shanghai, China. Neri & Hu’s talent in architecture and design is mesmerizing and they thoroughly deserve the accolades given.

Volupté by Chef Janice Wong

Chef Janice Wong, owner of 2am:dessert bar, partners Swarovski Elements and home-grown tableware maker Luzerne to launch Volupté, a collection of tableware specially made for dessert and light afternoon beverages. The set, a work of art in itself, complements Chef Wong’s remarkable and tantalizing creations.

 

SG50 Celebrations

Jubilee editions of Neri & Hu’s Ming collection (left) and Utility collection (right) will be launched at Maison&Objet Asia

To commemorate Singapore’s 50 years of independence, there will be a launch of special Jubilee editions of Neri & Hu’s Ming and Utility Collections. The Ming Collection consists of a series of Ming chairs and a Ming coffee table in different shades of green, highlighting Singapore’s reputation as the greenest city in Asia, while the Utility Collection consists of six comfortable chairs in black suede leather.

 

Exhibitors Galore

Last year’s edition of Maison&Objet Asia saw 265 brands filling up the venue. This year sees a marked increase, with a total of 300 brands, a third of which are from Asia, coming together to showcase the best of high-end decoration and home fashion. Expect nothing less than eye-catching and inspirational design pieces, whether it’s furniture, lighting and even textiles.

MAISON&OBJET Asia 2015 will be held at Marina Bay Sands from March 10th to 13th. Public admissions will be on March 13th, from 12pm to 6pm, with an entrance fee of S$35.
