The eccentric construction of the Ozlucent gives the shoe a futuristic look. The rigid-shaped skeletal upper made with polyurethane material is held up with three individual molds. The upper is designed with organic-shaped holes and is wrapped around an inner neoprene sock.
The futuristic aesthetic extends to the sole of the shoe. It is designed with a chunkier heel and forefoot with an arch in the middle. The traditional lacing system has been omitted, but the adjustable strings allow you to tighten the fit.
Mr. Bailey x Adidas Ozlucent is inspired by the designer’s love for marine biology, mainly by the Aurelia Aurita, or the moon jellyfish. The starting of a moon jellyfish’s life cycle’s anatomy inspired the toe box of the sneaker. The mid is inspired by Ephyra, which is the stage before the moon jellyfish turns into an adult. The wide foot is influenced by the Medusa, also known as the adult form of a moon jellyfish.
