Anyone who has raised a child knows that footwear can be quite problematic. Young children grow so quickly that parents sometimes compromise on buying good quality, properly-fitted sneakers in order to reduce visits to the store. This leaves many kids with shoes that don’t perform well and are a size too big.
Nike Kids has noticed this issue and launched Nike Adventure Club in the United States. The service caters to kids between the ages of two and 10, providing sneakers at specific intervals based on three different plan options – four pairs of sneakers a year at $20 a month, six pairs of sneakers a year at $30 a month, or 12 pairs of sneakers a year at $50 a month.
Parents are spoilt for choice with a vast pool of 100 sneakers to pick from. When the sneaker no longer fits, you can send the pair back and Nike Adventure Club will either recycle or donate the sneaker.
Nike introduced a trial sneaker club two years ago, which amassed 10,000 subscribers. Now, the brand feels ready to expand the program to a wider audience. This includes future plans focused on avid runners, whose running shoes wear out more quickly. Nike Adventure Club general manager Dave Cobban told CNN that there is potential also for a marathon membership program.
Currently, there is no news if the program will be extended to Singapore.
