Tall order: Exploring the Air Max with the tallest Air unit

Meet the Nike Air Max 720 – Nike’s latest and tallest Air Max yet.

The Nike Air Max 720 lands hard in 2019 coming in a range of colorways.

The Air Max line started with a small bubble that gave the footwear world a glimpse into Nike’s innovation.

To this day, the entire Air Max line is still celebrated a great deal. Despite the robust variety of styles and colorways available, there can never be enough Air Maxes to go around. Case in point, Nike.com has a dedicated Air Max By You section where you can customize your own colorways on some of the most popular silhouettes in the line. For a major brand like Nike, constantly churning out iconic sneakers doesn’t mean that they can rest on their laurels. Indeed, innovation can never truly stop. 32 years since the debut of visible Air, we now have another revolutionary design in the form of the Nike Air Max 720. All the talk leading up to Air Max Day 2019 has been about Nike’s latest silhouette. Here, we’re zooming in on the finer details of the sneaker’s unique design.

It’s tall. In fact, it houses the tallest ever Air unit on an Air Max

Beyond the title of “tallest” Air unit, it actually provides more comfort and bounce.

The Nike Air Max 720 stands tall among its Air Max peers. At 38mm high, it’s blown the Air Max 270’s 32mm high Air unit out of the competition. Since the release of the Air Max 1 in 1987, all we’ve ever wanted is more Air, and the 720 gives us just that. The full-length Air unit coupled with more Air on the heel delivers more bounce and comfort for the wearer. Like a really stylish spring in your step, it’s a definite go-to sneaker for anything and everything.

Driving innovation while taking a step towards sustainability

A model innovation: Gunning for the latest and greatest in sneaker design doesn’t have to compromise the environment.

Nike is all about innovation and we can imagine the rigorous process of developing the groundbreaking Nike Air Max 720. Admirably, part of the sportswear brand’s process includes taking a serious view on the environmental impact of manufacturing. While Nike has always maintained that at least 50% of what constitutes its Air units are recycled materials, they’ve truly gone above and beyond with the 720s – more than 75% of the Air unit is constructed with recycled manufacturing waste. Talk about killing two birds with one stone.

Putting aside the height of the Air unit, the Nike Air Max 720 has a mindblowing 360 degrees of visible Air for its sole, both horizontally and vertically. This singular feature is what inspired the name of the sneaker. But with the attention focused on the massive Air bag, we’re glad the sneakers come in colorways that are bang on point too. From Team Orange, Hyper Jade, Club Gold and the women’s Hyper Pink colorway, there’s no reason to not flaunt your Airs to the maximum.

The latest Nike Air Max 720 colorways are now available on Nike.com, retailing at S$259.
