Continuing his partnership with Nike, UNDERCOVER’s Jun Takahashi releases another collection of Nike Gyakusou for Spring/Summer 2013.
The new collection combines Nike’s functionality and innovation with Jun Takahashi’s designs. It seeks to equip runners to perform in sweltering conditions. For that, Jun Takahashi incorporated unlined, lightweight and breathable materials into this collection, specifically designed for running in humid environments.
“In Rio de Janeiro, where summer temperatures exceed 104 degrees, Gyakusou runners battle the heat as they fly along the Brazilian city’s colourful streets, through its verdant tropical parks, and past legendary landmarks and lagoons. Uniting this transcendent state of concentration and contemplation with amplifying adrenaline, they achieve a state of Zen, enabled by their weather-combative equipment.”
The collection’s promo short film was shot in the rainforests of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil instead of the usual urban running environment. The collection is now available at Nike and Tres Bien.
