Footwear drops: Nike opens the floodgates this week with the On Air collection launch

This week’s bumper crop of releases includes the six-sneaker Nike On Air collection drop.

Also on the list are Jun Takahashi’s extensive collaboration sneakers with Nike and Dr. Martens.

We’ve picked out sixteen sneakers that are launching this week, with the bulk of them coming from the Nike On Air collection and Undercover’s range of collaboration footwear. Besides that, we’re also getting fresh takes on some classics with the Adidas x Overkill ZX 10000-C and the Air Jordan 1 Crimson Tint. Here’s all you need to know for a chance to cop.

The Nike On Air collection will finally drop this week, nearly a year since these highly conceptualized designs were selected. Each of the six sneakers represent one major city: London, Tokyo, Paris, New York, Shanghai and Seoul. The word on the street is that the Air Max 97 Seoul (bottom left) and Air Max 97 Shanghai (bottom middle) are going to be the most coveted pairs in the collection. If you ask us, you should cop them all. The collection will retail from S$229 to S$329

Dr. Martens x Undercover
April 13

Everything is punk at Undercover and this collaboration with Dr. Martens certainly reflects the brand’s rebellious nature. The footwear collection features distinct “The New Warriors” script on the toe area and the “NW” logo, which is the title of Undercover’s SS19 collection. The Dr. Martens x Undercover collaboration will come in two of Dr. Martens’ most celebrated silhouettes – the low-cut 1461 and high-cut 1460 – dressed in the iconic cherry red, navy and black. The 1461s will retail at S$329 while the 1460s will retail at S$379.

Adidas x Overkill ZX 10000-C
April 13

Adidas and Overkill are taking a trip down memory lane to revive the golden era of the 90s with this ZX 10000-C. The sneaker pays homage to old-school games that came out about the same time as the retro ZX line. If the generally muted grey colorway featuring red, blue and green color-blocking details doesn’t scream retro to you, we don’t know what will. Looking to cop? The sneaker will only set you back S$229.

Air Jordan 1 Crimson Tint
April 15

The ever-popular Air Jordan 1 gets a new “Crimson Tint” colorway on its pristine leather uppers. It sports a pink hue across the toe box and Swoosh, as well as the ankle and heel overlay panels. But it appears that this sneaker will come only in kid’s sizing. So if you have small feet, you should grab this rare opportunity to trump the regular-sized Jordan heads with a colorway they’ll never have.

Nike x Undercover SFB Mountain
April 15

Fashion is Jun Takahashi’s playground and yet again, his true display of elegant punk is reflected on Nike’s trek-ready silhouette – the SFB Mountain. Expect two colorways from this collaboration, one a grungy black iteration with speckled midsoles, while the other is a bolder iteration that mixes a trio of colors – navy, white and red. Both come with a midfoot strap featuring the words “The New Warriors” – the title of Undercover’s SS19 collection. But the collaboration effort won’t come cheap, with the retail price set at S$495.
