To keep runners on their feet, Nike introduces the new React Infinity Run shoe, created to help reduce injury. Aside from it being a great looking shoe, here are the three key features in the Nike React Infinity Run.
1) Nike Rocker Geometry – forward leaning for a smoother foot strike
Like the Zoom Vaporfly 4%, the React Infinity Run is fitted with a rocker-like bottom that encourages a slight lean forward that can help to move the foot strike from heel to midfoot, or even forefoot. This prevents the incidence of heel striking, which is believed to be a common cause for running injury.
Even if you’re from the school of thought that believes heel striking isn’t all that bad, the propulsion in the Nike React Infinity Run gives the feeling of momentum and energy – altogether great feelings to have while running.
2) A wider base for greater stability
The React Infinity Run is fitted with a wider base designed to keep your foot closer to the ground for better stability. On feet, these shoes feel stable, cushioned and supported in the midfoot with no feeling of the feet wobbling.
The forefoot of the React Infinity Run is also noticeably wider than that of the Epic React Flyknit, which makes the Infinity Run more forgiving towards runners with wider feet compared to the Epic React Flyknit, which were already relatively comfortable in the upper.
The shoes come with the new Flyknit Loft material in the upper – a three-layer mesh that provides greater durability, stability and containment and comfort.
3) 24% more React foam for more cushioning
The React Infinity Run consists of 24% more React foam than its predecessor, the Epic React Flyknit, does. Greater cushioning, Nike argues, gives greater energy return so that you can continue to stay fresh late in a run.
True enough, we felt the added React foam lends the feet more buoyancy and even helps to keep the arches of the feet more supported.
The Nike React Infinity Run is now available in Singapore at Nike stores and on Nike.com. It comes in three colorways for men and four for women.
