Get your bibs ready, Nike SB and Concepts are serving a Purple Lobster

The Concepts x Nike SB Dunk Purple Lobster is the latest to join the Lobster series of sneakers.

The first shoe in the series by Concepts and Nike SB launched over 10 years ago.

The first shoe of the “Lobster” series by Concepts and Nike SB dropped over 10 years ago in 2008. Dubbed the “Red Lobster”, the collaboration was inspired by the Boston’s fishing community as well as the red color of lobsters, the shellfish Boston is best known for. The “Red Lobsters”, per its name, came in a red, speckled leather upper, picnic-table lining and a rubber band found on the toebox, a reference to the banding of lobster claws at catch point.

A blue version of the “Lobster” sneaker dropped a year later and an elusive yellow . F&F pair is also out there in the world. A decade later, the Concepts x Nike SB Dunk “Purple Lobster” is about to come to the table.

The “Purple Lobster” is a purple colored version of all the other sneakers that have been part of the “Lobster” series. Different hues of speckled purple leather will dominate the upper contrasted by white laces and a white tongue. In some photos, the sneakers appear to come with an extra pair of peach laces, however, we cannot confirm this.

Rumors are also circulating of the possibility of a much smaller release of a “Green Lobster” sneaker and an orange F&F pair. However, we are unable to verify these speculations at the moment.
