PUMA unarchives the CELL Endura for its 20th anniversary

The PUMA CELL Endura has been unarchived and it’s a throwback to the ’90s.

Reissued for its 20th anniversary, the PUMA CELL Endura is another one to add to the list of chunky sneakers in 2018.

Chunky shoes. Who would’ve thought they’d make a comeback? Well, they have, and in a big way. PUMA joined the party with its Thunder Spectra and the RS-0, and now, it draws deep into its archives to re-release the PUMA CELL Endura.

The shoe features CELL technology, which was first introduced in 1998. The CELL Endura was the pinnacle model of the CELL technology back in the day, a result of the need for cushioning and a solution for a variation of running needs. In essence, with the ’90s making a comeback, this shoe is a force to be reckoned with.

The reissue sticks close to the OG. The same distinctive eyelets, chunky silhouette, and the Flubber-like green CELL technology make their way back to the updated version. There are reworked details: a slimmer toe cap, digital stitching (instead of the hand stitches of the archived version), a breathable mesh upper with suede and PU coated leather overlays. The heel of the shoe shows off the PUMA and CELL logos stitched on. Finally, seen on the arch of the midsole is a ’90s version of the PUMA formstrip logo.

The PUMA CELL Endura will be available for purchase from October 4 onwards. It will be available at Leftfoot, Limited Edt and the PUMA Select Store at MBS; each pair retails at S$219.
