Recap: Converse Sneakers Clash for Spring 2014

Converse makes a splash with Sneakers Clash, an event to launch its Spring 2014 collection.

True to the event name, there was plenty of color clashing last Wednesday evening when Converse took to Art Bar at the Butter Factory to showcase its new Spring 2014 collection.

Upon entering Art Bar, guests were treated to an up close and personal display of the new Chuck ’70 sneakers. Several steps further were the Platform Plus and Tie-Dye collections which sat amid a backdrop of colored jars. Adding a splash of fun to the event was the presence of local urban artists ClogTwo and InkTen. The duo produced a unique art installation by adding colors to everyday items like an old TV set, door and swivel chair, in addition to the usual canvas.

Guests were also encouraged to interact and express their creativity, either through drawing and writing messages on an art wall or using water guns to blast paint at some pairs of plain Chuck Taylors. There was even a human target whose clothing soon became a colorful mess. All in good fun, of course.

The Converse Spring 2014 Chuck Taylor All Star collection is now available nationwide at selected Converse boutiques.
