Nike pays tribute to Roger Federer with a pair of limited edition tennis sneakers.
The sneaker features a clean all-white leather upper with detailed stitching on the side panels and embroidered branding on the tongue.
In addition, it also features an embossed Swoosh and laser-etched “8” on the heel. The number signifies Federer’s eighth victory at Wimbledon.
According to Nike, the brand chose this shoe because it’s one of Federer’s favorite Nike Tennis silhouettes. It also pays home to the 1997 Tinker Hatfield-designed Nike Air Oscillate.
For those unaware, the Swiss tennis superstar won his 19th Grand Slam title and eighth Wimbledon yesterday. He beat Croatian player Marin Čilić in straight sets, 6–3, 6–1, 6–4.
Besides the sneaker, Nike will also be releasing two commemorative t-shirts (pictured below).
Both the NIKELAB Oscillate Evolve RF sneaker and t-shirts will be available from July 17 at NikeTown London and 21 Mercer.
