Ronda Rousey Demolishes Her Opponent in Just 34 Seconds Flat

Proving that she’s truly the best female MMA fighter in the world, Ronda Rousey wasted no time in finishing Bethe Correia at UFC 190.

She came. She fought. She conquered. We told you how Ronda Rousey was not to be trifled with, and the mixed martial arts champion had proven this weekend by starting her match with guns blazing and standing tall after it was over.

Her opponent, Brazil’s Bethe “Pitbull” Correia, might have had the home ground advantage and mental confidence, especially since she dissed Rousey’s family leading up to the fight. Heck, she even landed several strikes to Rousey at the start. But she never stood a chance once Rousey retaliated with a flurry of punches and knees to the body. The audience, who probably expected Rousey to utilize her superb judo techniques to take Correia down, were definitely in for a treat as Rousey stood her ground in the slugfest.

It was a heated affair at the weigh-ins, but Rousey showed that in-cage performance is where it really matters

In the end, a well-timed and lethal punch knocked Correia to the ground, signalling to the referee and all who were watching that the match was truly done and dusted. Rousey broke out in a smile again, paid tribute to the late professional wrestler Roddy “Rowdy” Piper, whose nickname she took with his blessings, and will be awaiting her next title fight with Miesha “Cupcake” Tate, who has fought Rousey twice but failed to bag the gold on both occasions.
