The process was simple, I noticed that the color of my bookshelf matched the Air Jordans XII.
2. What equipment did you use to capture this shot?
I used a Sony A7 Mark 2 Camera with a Sony FE 50mm F1.8 lens. I edited the image on my phone using the VSCO camera.
3. Any tips on getting the perfect sneaker shot?
I think all you need is a good theme that goes well with your sneakers and good lighting.

1. Talk us through the process of taking this picture.
I start off with positioning my shoes on the carpet. I used everyday items to help prop the shoes up for that “3D” look. Afterwards, I stood up and shot the pictures with the flash positioned overhead. I continued taking multiple shots until I’m happy with how the light hits the shoe and the amount of shadow cast created.
2. What equipment did you use to capture this shot?
Basically, I used the same setup from my earlier street photography days – a Ricoh GR2 and a wireless flash. I then use Adobe Lightroom to edit the pictures.
3. Any tips on getting the perfect sneaker shot?
Light and composition are key to a good picture. Of course, a pair of hype sneakers will also helps!

1. Talk us through the process of taking this picture.
It’s a common process for me. I point the camera focus to a spot in the area I’m going to take a photo of, remember the spot and put my foot on that spot. I often use a wireless remote to capture the image or run to the spot really fast if I’m taking the picture manually, using a countdown timer.
2. What equipment did you use to capture the shot?
I used my very reliable Canon 7D SLR body with a Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens. Since I always shoot with a RAW file, I used Adobe Photoshop for some minor editing.
3. Any tips on getting the perfect sneaker shot?
Light is your friend. Always try to find the best angle that gives you the best light without compromising the background. I find that it helps to add focus to your subject. Also, using camera accessories such as tripods, wireless remotes, or even your phones can help give you good angles and sharp images.

This picture was taken at the Lucky Plaza rooftop.
2. What equipment did you use to capture the shot?
I snapped this shot using a Panasonic Lumix GX8 with a kit lens. For editing, I just used two iPhone apps, Snapseed and Glitch Photo.
3. Any tips on getting the perfect sneaker shot?
When shooting sneakers, try to enhance the important details and use different angles. I notice that paying extra attention to the place you’re shooting and the sneakers, helps.
