StraatBeats Vol. 2: Bangers from Lil Wayne, Young Thug, Jaden Smith, A$AP Ferg

StraatBeats Vol. 2 delivers the freshest and hardest hitting tracks for your Friday night!

This week’s curation includes tracks from Lil Wayne, Young Thug, Jaden Smith, and A$AP Ferg.

1. “Dedicate” – Lil Wayne

Four years since its supposed release date, and after a whole lot of complications between Lil Wayne and his label, we finally receive The Carter V. The monster 23-track LP, rumored to be Weezy’s last solo LP, is a mix of old school Wayne and some new sounds. Standout tracks include “Dedicate” and “Let it Fly” (featuring Travis Scott). This album will definitely go down as one of the most important ones of the year.

2. “King” – Nasty C & A$AP Ferg

Nasty C enlists the help of Harlem native A$AP Ferg for this catchy trap tune. A$AP Ferg’s flow and adlibs are perfect for the pre-drinks.

3. “Real in My Veins” – Young Thug feat. T-Shyne

The mumble rapper that started it all, Young Thug demonstrates that he is way more versatile than what the critics say about him. In the first verse alone, Thugger switches his flow three times. Yes, three. With its infectious melody, “Real in My Veins” is sure to get you shaking your shoulders.

5. “Walk” – Comethazine

With video by the touted producer Cole Bennet, Comethazine brings out this hard-hitting trap tune equipped with all the basics. Muddy basslines with pounding 808s and a constant hi-hat roll, this is a club banger for sure.

6. “Back On My Sh*t” – Jaden Smith

Jaden drops a new single as part of the soundtrack for the movie Skate Kitchen. His signature auto-tuned flow over a trap beat and infectious melody will have you banging your head no matter where you are. Jaden’s adlibs will get you hyped too.

7. “If I’m Lyin, I’m Flying” – Kodak Black

No, this is not that Twitter meme in which Kodak Black and Travis Scott and their crew are seen awkwardly vibing to that insanely infectious beat. This is classic Kodak with a modern boom-bap beat that is just as catchy and bound to make you do the dance anyway.

8. “New Orleans” -Brockhampton

Brockhampton is en route to landing a No. 1 album on the Billboard Top 100. Iridescence is the first project the group has released in the wake of Ameer Vann’s departure (sexual misconduct), and the album proves that the group is keeping it strong. One of our favorite tracks is “New Orleans”, which features an edgy, hard-hitting beat. Classic Brockhampton.

9. “M3dusa” – Louie Indigo and Asking Joshy (Slime G4ng)

Up and coming rapper Louie Indigo teams up with Asking Joshy, an MC, to produce this emo-rap track. With a Juice WRLD type beat, Slime G4ng will get you in your feels as you savor that catchy beat.

10. “Poolside Roulette” – $ain’t

$ain’t, an emerging rapper with already . 40k+ streams on his breakout track, is one to watch. With a drawn-out guitar sample and simple drum pattern, $ain’t raps about the struggles of being in love at a young age.
