The Weeknd Debuts New Single, New Hair, New PUMA Collab

The Weeknd is back on track with a new single “Starboy”, a new ‘do, and an upcoming collaboration with PUMA.

PUMA announces an official partnership with The Weeknd. He will front PUMA’s “Run the Streets” (#RunTheStreets) campaign and also collaborate with PUMA on the PumaXO footwear and clothing line set to arrive in stores in 2017.

The Weeknd, also known as Abel Tesfaye, will also be fronting products from PUMA’s Sportstyle range, such as the Ignite Limitless and Ignite Evoknit silhouettes as well as their Evo clothing line (source).

This partnership will see The Weeknd joining the list of famous names associated with the sportswear brand including Rihanna, Cara Delevigne, and Kylie Jenner.

Some fans have guessed a collaboration was in order after seeing The Weeknd sporting PUMA kicks in the “Starboy” music video released just two days ago.

The music video to the Daft Punk-assisted track off The Weeknd’s upcoming album features dark, gritty visuals of the singer thrashing his past self. Fun fact: Daft Punk makes a cameo appearance at 1:18 of the video.

With his new cropped ‘do and a new single (that was nominated for the MTV EMA even before the release of the video) we’re looking forward to what The Weeknd has in store in the coming months.
