The Ultraboost 21 comes with 6% more Boost

The Ultraboost 21 packs more Boost and a stiffer torsion plate. Adidas Creators Club members get first dibs on January 21.

The design of the Ultraboost 21 (right) is largely influenced by the OG Ultraboost (left) that was released in 2015.

Model: Adidas Ultraboost 21 “Cloud White/Solar Yellow”

Drop date: January 21 for Creators Club members and January 28 for public

Approx. price: S$260

Building on the Ultraboost 19 and 20: The Ultraboost 21 builds on the chunkier, more performance-focused design seen in the Ultraboost 19 and Ultraboost 20. Like its predecessors, the UB 21 is constructed out of a full-knit upper attached to a thicker midsole with 6% more Boost outlined with a revamped torsion system called LEP (Linear Energy Push).
The new combination of an exaggerated heel and LEP torsion system lends balance between cushioning, support and responsiveness. With LEP, Adidas promises 15% increase in forefoot bending stiffness which improves responsiveness.
Primeblue is the new green: The Ultraboost 21 is made with sustainability in mind. Its upper is made with a newly introduced recycled polyester blend called Primeblue which is spun from yarn made from recycled plastic waste taken from coastal communities and beaches.
This is the second major overhaul of the Ultraboost since it was first unveiled in 2015. The first major change came in 2019, in the form of a 20% thicker Boost midsole and a simplification of the construction of the sneaker.

Final note: The Ultraboost 21 builds on a tried-and-tested formula that has made the Ultraboost 19 and 20 great. Couple with an eye-catching colorway, we can see the UB 21 being a hit.
