Jun Takahashi’s longtime partnership with Nike continues into 2020, reworking another silhouette in the vein of his rebellious label, Undercover. The all-new Undercover x Nike React Presto packs a distinct post-apocalyptic aesthetic that has come to be associated with Jun Takahashi. Robust, futuristic, and hostile are some of the words to describe this upcoming rendition, which will arrive in two colorways.
The design details, for one, presents a follow up to the two brands’ most recent collaboration footwear – the Air Max 720 and React boot. Besides the prominent paint-flecked details on the sneaker’s panels, it also comes with functional upgrades that differ from the lifestyle-geared original silhouette.
For better traction, the comfortable React midsoles are now enhanced with a hardy rubber tooling, giving off a chunky aesthetic that remains bang on trend. The construction quality extends right up to the materials lining the uppers, which pack a mix of mesh and leather for durability. If Jun Takahashi’s signature design touches aren’t enough, the sneaker also features a tonal version of the label’s signature “U” logo on the heels, with further co-branding appearing on the insoles.
