As Singapore gears up for its 50th Anniversary, Singaporeans have started the #SG50ShadesOfGrey feed, which satirizes both Singapore’s SG50 celebration this year, as well as E.L James’ bestselling erotic trilogy.
The release of Sam Taylor-Johnson’s film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey couldn’t have been timelier. Having premiered on Valentine’s Day and causing mass movie hysteria from girlfriends lugging their significant others into theaters all across Singapore, the film has also inspired the satirical hashtag #SG50ShadesOfGrey.
