Vans Announces its First Vans Asia Custom Culture Competition

Head’s up sneaker designers and customizers! Now’s your chance to shine with the first Vans Asia Custom Culture Competition.

Stand a chance to be mentored by elite sneaker artists such as SBTG, Original Punk, Start From Zero, Fritilldea, Varsha Nair, and Lin Wenxin when you enter the Vans Asia Custom Culture Competition.

The Vans Asia Custom Culture Competition is a three round sneaker designing and online voting competition.

Vans is currently on the lookout for shoe designs that are able to blend individual local flavor as well as true “Off the Wall” spirit, described here as taking art off the wall and putting it onto a shoe.

The winner will score a range of prizes including a US$2,000 (approx. S$2,790) cash prize, a chance to host the global House of Vans workshop, as well as bring their proposed Vans Authentic sneaker design to life in an Asian exclusive release in 2018.

Round 2: True White Authentic Showdown

Round 2 will take place in August, where shortlisted entries will then have to recreate their designs on a pair of Vans Authentic sneakers to be submitted to House of Vans where the winning entries will be determined by a panel of elite judges – including the brand’s VP of Global Creative, Jamie Reilly.

Round 3

Finalists will be determined after the two rounds. In the third round,  participants will team up with sneaker artists to collaborate on a pair of their very own Vans Authentic.
