Ever since Virgil Abloh came out with “The Ten” for Nike featuring a deconstructed motif, many brands have followed suit and tried their hand at it. Skate brand Vans put out a Re-Issue series of their popular silhouettes, the Sk8-Hi and Slip-on, in 2018. By cutting up the silhouette and pasting the panels in different places, Vans created a take on the deconstructed concept that was well-received. Building onto that success, the latest Sk8-Hi Cut & Paste has been given the “Animal Pack” treatment.
Each panel on the Sk8-Hi Cut & Paste features a different animal print, from cheetah to leopard to even pony hair on the checkerboard panels. The cut and paste theme carries on with a zipper on the lateral side and an extended heel panel that drops down onto the midsole, forcing the iconic Vans heel tag to be moved onto the lateral side. An extra checkerboard panel can found on the medial side of the midsole. It’s definitely one of the most unique deconstructed and “Animal Pack” sneakers on the market right now.
There’s no information on a local release for now but do watch this space for updates.
