Now the Yeezy QNTM Basketball is court-ready, it drops mid-May

The Yeezy QNTM Basketball is a court-ready variant of its QNTM sibling that dropped in Chicago over All-Star Weekend.

The Yeezy QNTM Basketball will be available from May 15 on the Adidas App.

We’ve been waiting on the Yeezy QNTM Basketball for a while now. The sneaker first gained notoriety for being banned by the NBA, citing too many 3M reflective elements in the design of the sneaker. Then, its lifestyle brother dropped all over Chicago in a guerilla-style release over All-Star Weekend. Finally, the Yeezy QNTM Basketball is arriving next month with a design tweaked to meet NBA requirements.

The two versions of the Yeezy QNTM look very similar. However, to provide greater stability, the Basketball variant will come with a hard-shell cage that is layered over the midfoot Primeknit panel. It mimics the 3M seen on the lifestyle sneaker, but the zebra pattern is woven into the fabric.

Another major difference, though not as obvious, is the ankle collar. To provide better support, it has been made structurally narrower than the lifestyle sneaker, with bolstered padding. Both sneakers have Boost midsoles, but we can expect the performance version to be engineered differently.

The Yeezy QNTM Basketball will drop on May 15 on the Adidas app. Stay tuned for more updates on its local release.
