The 2002R Protection Pack sneakers are designed in an eccentric and edgy manner. The panelling is given raw edges and purposefully cut in irregular patterns in order to create a deconstructed and pre-distressed look. Coupled with the off-white or cream midsoles, exposed foam tongue and yellowed plastic panels, these 2002Rs cater to the current demand for neo-vintage sneakers.
It also feels as comfortable as a well-worn shoe. The sole is engineered with N-ergy and Abzorb Sbs cushioning, which is New Balance’s midsole technology that has been designed to provide comfort and stability for runners and sneakerheads.
The shoes utilize high quality materials, pre-distressed details and deconstructed paneling.
These are the sixth and seventh colorways of the New Balance 2002R protection pack. Some of the most popular colorways are the Rain Cloud and Pink, which are all currently reselling for well over S$600 – a sign of just how desirable these sneakers are.
The 2002R has been the choice silhouette for multiple New Balance collaborations. Salehe Bembury, Joe Freshgoods, Ganni, and Bape have all released versions of the 2000s runner.
