The Predator line of football boots is one of Adidas’ most successful footwear lines. Some of the best football players have rocked the iconic Predator boot at the peak of their careers; think the likes of David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane.
Now, 23 years since it was first introduced, Adidas is retro-ing the Adidas Predator Accelerator Boot with a construction that follows closely in the footsteps of the OG iteration.
This means the boot comes in a full leather upper layered with the wavy panels that made it an instant icon back in the ’90s. Some other old school features that debuted on the Predator line that will return are the fold-down lace covers with elastic bands that keep them in place.
So what’s new? The 2021 remake of the boot will come in a triple black colorway accented with dark grey overlays and black chrome heel caps. The 2021 Predator will also get a split outsole used in most modern Predator models—a perfect blend of classic aesthetics and bleeding-edge performance technology.
There’s also a trainer equivalent. The Predator Accelerator Boot arrives with a trainer variant, which will come with a near-identical upper but with a midsole and heel cap borrowed from the Ultraboost. Following the monochromatic theme, the midsole and outsole will be completely blacked out.
The Predator Accelerator boot is slated to drop on January 15. You can cop your pair at Weston Corp’s webstore or at their Queensway store.
