Singapore’s first adidas MakerLab turns gym gear into fire fits

At the adidas MakerLab, sports meets creativity. Discover all the Singapore exclusive designs that await your selection from April 10 when the new adidas performance flagship store at VivoCity Singapore opens.

A first in Singapore, the new adidas flagship store at VivoCity that’s due to open on April 10 will come with a new feature called MakerLab offering Singapore exclusive customization options  created in collaboration with leading creatives such as Aeropalmics, Marina A., Reza Hasni and Yana and Jun.

Inspired by and exclusive to Singapore

Each of the customization options available at the adidas VivoCity MakerLab is inspired by Singapore and our sporting scene reimagined by local artists. Shoppers can customize their adidas apparel and gear with a selection of embroidery patches and t-shirt designs. 

Make it yours at MakerLab

The designs will be available in two phases from April 10 onwards. Choose to have them printed on, heat pressed or hand jet printed onto your adidas gear of choice. Customers who purchase apparel or sneakers from the adidas VivoCity flagship store are entitled to a 30% discount on the MakerLab customization fee.

In addition, any customizable products bought at any adidas retail stores (excluding factory outlets) with proof of receipt, will be entitled to the 30% off MakerLab fees from April 10 till 18.

Yana and Jun

Founders and artists of the multidisciplinary brand and creative agency BÜRO UFHO, Yana and Jun have created patches that draw inspiration from Singaporean sayings. Titled “Sure Can One”, a play on the adidas catchphrase “impossible is nothing”, Yana and Jun’s designs offer a kitschy souvenir-like aesthetic and feature colloquialisms like “shiok”, “bojio” and others. 

Aeropalmics

adidas is the latest addition to Aeropalmics’s extensive portfolio of brand collaborations. Her creations for the Brand With Three Stripes offer a visual recount of its root in sports and its place within sporting culture. Through a mix of analog and digital design elements, Aeropalmics, herself a sports enthusiast, hopes to inspire others to begin their journey in sports. 

Reza Hasni

Mirroring ‘90s internet pop and club culture, Reza Hasni created a series that reflects his return to sport after Singapore’s extensive lockdown period. To him, sports enabled a tremendous reset, transporting him to a state of joy that was lost during the circuit breaker. 

Marina A.

Harnessing the multidisciplinary skills she has amassed through her experience as a visual artist, Marina A. has created a deconstructed view of the past, present and future of sports in Singapore.

The new adidas performance flagship store, located at #01-73/87 Vivocity Singapore, will be fully stocked with a wide array of Three Stripes performance apparel, footwear and accessories. When it opens on April 10, the store will host MakerLab customization sessions, local art displays and performance workshops to meet all athletes’ needs.
