Jordan brand isn’t done decking out the Air Jordan 1 Low with highly covetable past colorways.
Soon, we’ll be looking at the Air Jordan 1 Low Shattered Backboard and Court Purple releases.
The life of a sneakerhead is filled with highs and lows. But when it comes to Air Jordan 1s, a sneakerhead will always have more Highs than Lows in their collection – or perhaps no Air Jordan 1 Lows at all. But we predict that the status quo is set to change, given the massive effort by the brand to level the playing field with its more popular high-top iteration. Travis Scott’s upcoming Air Jordan 1 Low collaboration could well fast track the low-tops to becoming a fan favorite. To add to that, the arrival of the Air Jordan 1 Low Shattered Backboard and Court Purple colorways might just change up the entire dynamics.
The reintroduction of these popular colorways in low-top iterations will join recent sold-out releases like the Air Jordan 1 Low Black Toe and Mystic Green in the quickly expanding lineup. However, in terms of construction quality, the lows will always lose out to their bigger brother. The Air Jordan 1 High is known for its signature leather upper and premium details. On the Air Jordan 1 Low, a nubuck material replaces the leather on the overlays stretching from the toe box edges to the heel. Furthermore, the Swoosh comes in glossy patent leather instead of the usual matte leather. Then again, unless you have US$1,618 (approx. S$2,213.42) to spare for the Air Jordan 1 High Shattered Backboard on Stockx or US$550 (S$752.50) for the “Court Purple” Highs, the S$159 Air Jordan 1 Low in similar colorways is a more accessible second option.
