Nike recreates the ’89 Air Jordan 4 Fire Red

The Air Jordan 4 Fire Red returns after 21 years in all its vintage glory. It hits digital shelves on November 28.

The Air Jordan 4 first dropped in 1989, arriving in three distinct colorways. One of which was the Air Jordan 4 Fire Red colorway that has remained one of the revered sneakers in the Jordan line up. For the first time in 21 years, Nike is releasing a proper retro of the sneaker, replicating every detail seen on the original release. The 2020 retro of the AJ4 Fire Red drops on November 28.

Nike attempts to recreate every detail on the AJ4 Fire Red. The sneaker receives white leather panels that are woven to mirror the shade of the OG sneaker. Contrasting it is red accents on the midsole, sock liner and eyelets. Similarly, black accents were accurately replicated on the heel tab, midsole, insole and under the midfoot and forefoot cage.

Staying true to the OG, the AJ4 Fire Red gets the “Nike Air” logo on the heel and the Jumpman logo on the tongue tab. Completing the throwback is an accurate recreation of the original hangtag and box.
