Footwear drops: Jordan brand and New Balance inject color into the first week of June

Jordan brand finally set a clear drop date for the nostalgic Air Jordan 6 “Hare”.

New Balance has listened to the people and brought out the New Balance 327 in more colorways.

June starts with a vibrant drop list of sneakers. Nike gets a headstart, with two major eye-catching releases. Most notably, the release of the Air Jordan 6 “Hare” – a sneaker that will pull at the heartstrings of people who grew up in the ’90s. New Balance, on the other hand, looks to the future with their 327 “Pride”. The multicolor sneaker celebrates the freedom to love who you love.

Check out this week’s releases from Nike, New Balance, and Adidas.

New Balance 327 “Pride”
June 3

The New Balance 327 is one of the hottest silhouettes to come out of the American brand. Its ’70s inspired design checks all the boxes and has, as a result, garnered a fittingly positive reception from the sneaker community. For New Balance’s 2020 Pride collection, the 327 takes centerstage again, this time sporting a white base with multicolored suede accents all across the sneaker. It sits atop an exaggerated midsole and a trail-inspired outsole.

Nike Air Zoom-Type “Black Menta”
June 4

Missed out on the Nike Zoom Alphafly Next%? This might be a good alternative. The Air Zoom-Type features a similar set-up as the performance marathon sneaker, but this one is updated for lifestyle use (it bears strong resemblance to the upcoming Sacai x Nike Vapourwaffle). In the Nike Air Zoom-Type “Black Menta”, you get the exposed Zoom Air Units upfront and an exposed TPU plate running through the middle. It’s not true anymore that anything comfortable must be ugly.

Air Jordan 6 “Hare”
June 5

Sneakerheads who grew up in the ’90s will recall seeing Jordan playing alongside Bugs Bunny in the movie Space Jam. In the 1996 film, Bugs Bunny is seen rocking a pair of Air Jordan 7 “Hare” customized to fit his rabbit feet. Well, Nike is now dropping an Air Jordan 6 with a colorway inspired by that sneaker.

The Air Jordan 6 “Hare” (or “Neutral Grey”) has white and grey leather panels all across the upper. Red, orange, and green accents are dotted around the sneaker’s tongue and outsole. The tongue comes with a cloudy white plastic panel that mimics the pattern seen on the original Air Jordan 7’s tongue. Carrot like lace locks completes the bunny inspired sneaker.

New Balance 327 “CLB”
June 5

The New Balance 327 has been a hit since it first launched as a collaboration with Casablanca. Its ’70s inspired silhouette mixed with high fashion exaggerated midsole made it one of the most sought-after sneakers in early 2020. New Balance has seen listened to fans and is releasing this shoe in yet more colorways. This blue and orange colorway, or “CLB”, is just one of four dropping in Singapore – so find the one you like, camp in (shop online) and hopefully, you can cop a pair. P.S: these sell out quickly.

Adidas Frankfurt
June 6

The Adidas Frankfurt is an accurate recreation of the famous City series sneaker launched in 1980s. Just like other sneakers of the time, it has a simple aesthetic but constructed out of premium materials. The whole upper of this sneaker comes in rich blue suede with velcro straps to make it easy to take on and off. To remain accurate to the original sneaker, the Frankfurt will come with a handball-like sole unit and silver foil stamp on the midfoot. The Adidas Frankfurt is the perfect sneaker to complete any vintage look.
