Amazon Singapore Launch Happening this Week

Amazon Singapore is coming to you this week!

Updated: July 27, 10.00am (GMT +8)

Amazon has officially launched its Prime Now service in Singapore. The app is now available to download via iTunes and Google Play stores.

There will be two delivery options for Singapore customers. A two-hour delivery service will be free for customers who place orders worth about S$40. Customers who don’t meet the S$40 minimum can choose pay S$5.99 for the standard two-hour delivery or S$9.99 for the one-hour delivery service.

Delivery timings in Singapore are from 10am to 10pm, seven days a week. If an order arrives late, customers can choose to reject it. In addition, Amazon will also refund customers if there are missing items in the delivery.

For a limited period of time, customers in Singapore will not need an Amazon Prime Now membership to enjoy its services. The company is, however, planning to launch the membership service sometime in the near future.

Amazon Singapore is finally launching this week after months of speculation.

“Amazon Prime, Amazon Prime Now fast delivery and Amazon’s regular e-commerce services [will] become available to Singapore’s population of over five million people,” reports TechCrunch.

Pricing for these services, however, are currently not available.

In addition, several sponsored posts (below) for the service have also popped up on Instagram. Although the company’s branding is not present in the posts, the recognizable arrow motif on the packaging is a dead giveaway.

The e-commerce giant has been pushing to break into the Southeast Asian market since last November. However, its plans were delayed due to several complications.

No other details are available at the moment, so stay tuned as the story develops.
