Amazon sportswear may prove tough competition to beat.

Amazon is currently developing its own sportswear line with the help of Makalot Industrial, a Taiwanese brand known for producing clothing for Gap and Uniqlo.

Money Control also reports that Eclat Textile Co, a Taiwanese supplier known for creating high-performance sportswear for Nike, Lululemon Athletica, and Under Armour is also contributing to Amazon’s activewear venture.

The retailer’s latest apparel project is currently undergoing a trial run with both manufacturers creating a small batch of apparel to test.

This won’t be Amazon’s foray into producing its own apparel. It has previously created office clothing, jackets, and dresses under menswear label Goodthreads and womenswear line Paris Sunday.
