It’s been 25 years since BAPE first opened shop and the Japanese label, so often recognized for its camo-infused designs and Ape head logo, couldn’t have celebrated in a bigger way than with the upcoming collaboration with watchmaker, Bell & Ross.
The BAPE x Bell & Ross watch looks like everything you’d imagine it to be. The collaboration watch utilizes the classic 42mm stainless steel BR square-faced design, but in place of its usual minimal watch-face is BAPE’s signature 1st camo providing a beautiful contrast to the black and white hand dials.
Further details on the watch face include the iconic Ape head that sits just underneath the quote “Apes stronger together” – a famous dialogue from the movie, War for the Planet of the Apes. Similar details can be found on one side of the watch strap as well. To underline the momentous collaboration, the caseback of the watch also features the Ape head logo engraved alongside the Bell & Ross branding.
As coveted as it is, trying to get your hands on the BAPE x Bell & Ross watch won’t be easy either. According to Kings Sleeve, the watch will be released exclusively at Bell & Ross’ Pavilion flagship store in Kuala Lumpur on November 10 via registration only. Adding to that, only 100 pieces are available worldwide, each retailing at RM16,800 (S$5,551).
The price of the limited edition watch may be a tad bit steep for most but for a luxury timepiece draped in BAPE’s iconic camo could make the watch worth the price.
