Footballer and PUMA ambassador Mario Balotelli is the poster boy for the long awaited collaboration between the sports brand and A Bathing Ape (BAPE).
We first previewed the BAPE x PUMA Autumn/Winter 2015 collection at this year’s Agenda Long Beach trade show, and after months of eager waiting, we finally get a closer look and definitive release date of the street-meets-sports collaboration that consists of sneakers, apparel and accessories.
For sneakerheads, PUMA’s classic R698 sneaker is given the BAPE black camouflage treatment, while the Disc Blaze comes in both classic green and black camouflage prints. Unlike its siblings, the Blaze of Glory arrives in a white colorway with hints of cream and grey camouflage peppered on the uppers.
BAPE’s iconic Shark Hoodie now comes with PUMA lettering, and in similar fashion, the latter’s football team replica jerseys and shorts feature BAPE’s camouflage print, with reflective piping on the sleeves for an edgy look. Long coats, most commonly seen on football managers who wear them match day, also receive BAPE’s camouflage patterns and form part of the collection.
Last but not least, the BAPE x PUMA collection is accessorized with a duffel bag and backpack that are both constructed from highly durable polyester body-fabric, along with football socks and headbands that are attention-grabbers on and off the pitch.
Sneakers are priced from S$249 to S$269, while apparels range from S$50 to S$690. The backpack and duffel bag cost S$210 and S$250 respectively.
The BAPE x PUMA Autumn/Winter collection will be available from November 28th onwards at the SG BAPE Store, and from December 12th onwards at selected Limited Edt Stores (Marina Bay Sands, 313@Somerset and Queensway).
