You know that lovely, extra concerned relative who expects a year’s summary of your life when you meet every Chinese New Year? Well, we hate her. Her questions cover both breadth and depth, and tend to linger in the deepest recesses of heartache, pain and trauma – “No more girlfriend? Why? Did it end because of your bad temper? Did she leave you for another guy? Does he make more money than you?” Yes, yes, and yes. Now shut up.
