Borrowing the Air Max 97 silhouette, Nike dresses the runner in metallic gold with matching gold-dipped stitched patchwork.
Other details include a white midsole, black outsole, a green embroidered Swoosh logo, and CR7 branding on the heel tab.
According to Nike, this collaborative runner draws inspiration from Ronaldo’s childhood as a young schoolboy.
“As a young boy, Cristiano Ronaldo was limited to just two pairs of shoes – one for play, and one for school,” said Nike. “While his school shoes were well kept, his play shoes always ended up with holes due to the endless amount of time he spent playing football. Each time he’d get a new hole in his shoes, his mother would patch them up.”
The Cristiano Ronaldo x Nike Air Max 97 drops exclusively on the SNKRS app in Western Europe on October 23.
These Air Max 97s are Ronaldo’s third Nike collab this year. The CR7 Mercurial Campeões was the first, and the Chapter 5: Cut to Brilliance” Mercurial Superfly came after.
