Vans Skateboarding and Dime are set to unveil the Rowley XLT as part of a larger initiative called the “Reanimation Series”, which sees the skate brand bringing back iconic silhouettes from their archive, The series is spearheaded by Vans with the primary objective of faithfully replicating old school silhouettes.
The Rowley XLT is not only an esteemed silhouette within Vans Skateboarding’s rich history but also a Y2K-era icon, highly sought after by enthusiasts. With the “Reanimation Series” initiative in mind, Van will be incorporating the same technologies that adorned the sneaker when it first graced the scene in 2001.
The shoe is set to be released in two colorways – the original navy hue and an exclusive Dime “Birch” colorway which will arrive in elevated monochromatic color-blocking designs. Additionally, the Rowley XLT and Dime logos will be prominently featured on the shoe’s heel counter and tongues.
Vans confirmed that they are retaining the 2001 construction including the technical specifications like a robust full synthetic nubuck upper, a lightweight cut and buff EVA midsole, a custom stabilizing heel clip and upper padding.
The Birch colorway will be exclusively available at a special Dime x Vans pop-up store in Paris, open from September 29 to October 1. Subsequently, an online release is scheduled on Dime’s website on September 30th. The original navy hue, on the other hand, will make its official debut via Vans’ website and select physical stores on October 5th. Stay tuned for more updates.
