As Domino’s nicely demonstrated, getting a pizza delivery via drones is the coolest thing ever.
According to Quartz, the drones can travel a distance of 1.5km from the pizza store, but Domino’s is aiming to ramp that up to 10km. Traveling at speeds of up to 30 km/h, that means residents get their piping hot pizzas in under 20 minutes.
Despite the major leap in delivery technology, customers would have to have several requirements to accommodate drone delivery, with the major factor being a garden big enough for the drone to land in.
Dominoes is currently interested in expanding their drone delivery services to the Australian and US market. However, due to the increase in strict policies restricting drone use, plans to expand are currently put on hold.
Drones have been making headlines ever since their debut. Earlier this month, an Australian man received a AU$9,000 fine for using a drone to grab a sausage off a free barbecue and delivering it to his friend in a hot tub.
