Floyd Mayweather seems to be in need of some quick cash.
This is according to Forbes, that claims Mayweather has filed a petition with the U.S. Tax Court to hold off action against him for “unpaid 2015 liabilities”, until an upcoming fight takes place.
The Mayweather vs McGregor event is expected to generate hundreds of millions in total revenue. Mayweather reportedly earned an obscene US$131 million for his fight against Manny Pacquiao in 2015, so the fight against McGregor – one that is seriously hyped – is expected to rake in the same amount, if not more.
Upon hearing the news, McGregor weighed in to say, “I don’t care what he done. He should have paid his taxes and stayed retired and kept my name out of his mouth.”
The Mayweather vs McGregor fight takes place August 26, 2017.
