The weirder, the better: Seoul-based eyewear brand unveils a futuristic and avant-garde collection for 2019.

The Gentle Monster Eyeware Collection 2019 stays true to the brand’s quirky and bizarre aesthetic. The “13” campaign explores the existence of a 13th month, portraying an imbalance in nature due to environmental changes that cause abnormal behavior in human beings and animals.

The collection features 18 new styles, ranging from classic to eccentric designs, featuring bright neon-colored lenses and frames. The collection is in stores now.

Gentle Monster x Frederik Heyman

Frederik Heyman is a Belgium-based multimedia artist who has worked with clients like Mercedes Benz, Vogue Japan and Kenzo. Using state-of-the-art technology, his work fuses elements of 3D, video and digital installations. His art usually portrays and narrates a future shaped by technology.

Heyman produced 3 short episodes for the “13” collection. The series depicts a future of abnormality triggered by the moon shifting out of its place and axis, creating a 13th month.
