Jakarta Sneaker Day returns for three days this year at Senayan City Mall

Jakarta Sneaker Day 2019 is happening on February 7 to 9.

It will be the sneaker convention’s third edition since debuting in 2017.

Sneaker culture has blossomed and reached places far and wide, including Asia. Next weekend, from February 7 to 9, The Hall at Senayan City Mall will play host to Jakarta Sneaker Day 2019. It’s a gathering of the Indonesian capital’s massive community of sneaker lovers.

As you’d expect at a convention of this size, there will be a good number of vendors and activities lined up. This includes a custom sneaker exhibition by @tahilalats x Vans Indonesia, giveaways, panel discussions, exclusive releases, auctions and steal deals starting from Rp. 500.000 (approx. S$48.29). It doesn’t end there. You can also catch music performances, sneaker community gatherings and even a free skate clinic with the riders from Vans Indonesia. Check out the full rundown on JSD’s website.

The organizers are expecting 25,000 visitors to this year’s Jakarta Sneaker Day.

This year’s edition, titled, “the rise of sneaker culture”, is themed after the ’90s era – pretty apt considering the recent reemergence of the dad sneaker trend from the ’90s. But, Jakarta Sneaker Day 2019 will not just be about sneaker sales. It will serve as a hotbed to explore the potential of sneaker communities while also educating about the history of sneaker culture worldwide and in Indonesia.

Consider extending your Lunar New Year holiday and get packing if you don’t want to miss out on experiencing the sneaker culture in Indonesia. Check out all the details below.
