Limited Edt’s latest addition, the L.E Hall of Fame, located at VivoCity (#02-19/20), is a basketball concept store with a strict members-only VIP Lounge. The store is an eye-opener whether or not you’re a fan of the sport.
“The seed of having a store devoted to all things basketball was sown two years ago when we gave Limited Edt Queensway a facelift. We saw that it did well and thus the idea for L.E Hall of Fame was born,” said Mandeep Chopra, owner of Limited Edt stores.
L.E Hall of Fame stocks signature basketball footwear styles from brands including Nike, adidas and Li Ning in an NBA locker room inspired setting. Footwear aside, the store also offers technical gear, jerseys and other accessories, including a large selection of New Era caps.
Non-hardcore basketball fans can pick off a selection of sneakers for casual wear such as the Converse All Star Chuck Taylor, adidas Superstar, Nike Air Force 1 and Puma Clyde. But of course, fans of the game would know even these shoe models take root in basketball.
Look out for a sliding footwear panel, which displays retro Air Jordan sneakers, a tribute to basketball’s greatest player. Arriving this month too is the Ewing Athletics footwear range formerly worn by New York Knicks legend Patrick Ewing.
But the true star of the store is the VIP lounge, which only members can access by tapping their membership card on a biometric scanner. The lounge is a visual history of basketball shoes from the 1950s to present day and boasts a sizable collection of vintage basketball shoes, some of which are on loan, while others were painstakingly sourced from all over the world.
The room is fitted with touchscreen machines which are chock full of information on each shoe. For example, did you know the Foamposite nearly didn’t go through? But it did in the end thanks to Daewoo, the Korean TV and car manufacturer, which helped Nike come up with the correct formula.
The VIP lounge also offers members a chance to try their hand at games and videos via the game console, watch Live NBA games on the television and even help themselves to beverages. To enrich the VIP experience, members will also be able to purchase sought after shoes sold within the lounge.
“The VIP lounge sits on precious retail space but this is our way of showing L.E members our appreciation for their support all these years,” said Mandeep.
Limited Edt will be opening the doors to its VIP lounge this week. Stay tuned for the official announcement by following its Facebook page.
Limited Edt celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and the L.E Hall of Fame is the sneaker retailer’s seventh store.
