Milo Signs Joseph Schooling as New Brand Ambassador

Swimming Olympic gold medalist, Joseph Schooling  (Singapore), is the new face of Milo.

Besides announcing Joseph Schooling is its ambassador, Milo Singapore also unveiled a new sugar-reduced beverage, Milo Gao Siew Dai.

In a “Live” Skype session from Texas earlier this today, Schooling spoke about his new role and how he came to love the popular cocoa-malt drink.

“I’m humbled and happy to be Milo’s new ambassador,” said Schooling. “The brand truly resonates with me. As a child, I grew up drinking Milo. Today, it remains relevant in my life as an adult and the beverage provides me with the energy and nutrients I need to take on the day’s challenges, be it training or in life.”

The Olympic champion also revealed that he drinks Milo at least twice a day, and his favorite way of consuming it is by mixing Milo powder with milk. To get his regular Milo fix, his parents, Colin and May Schooling, often travel with several packs of Milo in their luggage when they visit him in Texas.

“I think it’s great that the Milo Gao Siew Dai has been introduced,” Schooling added. “Like many Singaporeans who are increasingly health-conscious, I too am concerned about my sugar intake and while I allow myself the occasional indulgence, I always try to keep a balance nutritious diet without consuming too much sugar most of the time.”

The new Milo Gao Siew Dai is targeted at adult Singaporeans, with the goal of encouraging lower sugar intake. Besides having a stronger Milo taste, it also contains 50% less sugar and 30% more protein.

The new made-in-Singapore product is now available at all leading supermarkets and retails for S$6.50 per packet.
