The 2000s are back and so is the Motorola Razr

The American tech giant has given its classic Razr a 2019 refresh, with a foldable display and android OS.

The Motorola Razr is slated to have a US$1,499.99 price tag and drops in January 2020.

If you had a Motorola Razr growing up, you were probably one of the coolest kids in the neighborhood. They were sleek, shiny and had the coolest flip to cut any call. Now you can relive those halcyon days because Motorola is bringing back the Razr, but with the latest tech from 2019.

The new phone maintains the form of the original Razr flip phone: one camera, two screens, and a huge chin. But this time, instead of a screen and T9 keyboard in the interior, the Razr gets a huge 6.2 inch foldable LCD display – that’s slightly bigger than the iPhone 11. Woah.

The outer shell will get a 2.7-inch quick view display, while the giant chin at the bottom of the phone will encase a fingerprint scanner and USB-C charging port.

Now, even though the price tag for the Motorola Razr equals that of the Samsung Galaxy Fold, it does not have the specs to match. It will ship with a Snapdragon 710 processor, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Besides the dated processor, the phone will come with a tiny 2510mAh battery.

In terms of its camera, its will sport a 16 MP main camera and 5 MP internal camera. But the quality of those cameras are yet to be tested.

The phone is set to be released in the US in January 2020, for US$1,499 (approx. S$2,041.64). Release dates and pricing for Singapore has yet to be announced.
