We end off the year with a slew of action-packed movies, including Kate Beckinsale in Underworld: Blood Wars and Michael Fassbender in Assassin’s Creed.
In Underworld: Blood Wars, Kate Beckinsale slips on the latex and returns to the role that made her famous years ago. As Selene, the powerful vampire death dealer, she must end the war between the feral Lycan clan and the bloodthirsty Vampire faction. This might be Beckinsale’s last time donning the costume, so don’t miss out on catching this movie if you’re a fan of hers.
Underworld: Blood Wars will be out in cinemas on 1 December 2016.
Self-taught Singapore filmmaker K. Rajagopal has produced his first full-length film, which was shown at several International Film Festivals recently. Following the journey of ex-convict Siva (Sivakumar Palakrishnan), A Yellow Bird traces the heartbreak and anguish he faces as he searches for his ex-wife and daughter after eight years of imprisonment. His life is made more complicated with the presence of illegal Chinese worker (played by Huang Lu), and despite the odds, they embark on a quest for redemption.
A Yellow Bird will be out in cinemas on 15 December 2016.
Set in the years before the original three episodes of Star Wars, this movie could very well be the blockbuster to wrap up the year. Showing just how the Rebellion attempted to prevent the existence of the Death Star (we know how that ended), the sci-fi film also revisits some classic Star Wars machines of war, like the X-Wing Fighter and AT-AT. A worthy watch before we move on to 2017.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be out in cinemas on 15 December 2016.

Based on the video game franchise of the same name, the movie follows a largely similar premise. Through a breakthrough technology, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) relives the memories of his ancestor, Aguilar, during the Spanish Inquisition some 500 years ago. Attaining a special set of skills via the Assassins organization that his forefather was part of, Callum has to utilize them to great extent to deal with the modern-day threat that has presented itself.
