All You Need to Know About the Apple Watch

Apple officially unveils the Apple Watch, a fully customizable wearable device that will be available in several options. Price-points vary, and the watch will be available from end April in select countries.

• Pre-orders for the Apple Watch start on April 10^th, with in-store availability for customers from Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the U.K. and the U.S. set for April 24^th

• Other countries will be able to purchase the watch at a later date

• The Apple Watch comes in two case sizes – 38mm and 42mm, and three collections with varying materials and finishes

• Pricing starts from US$349 and will go up to US$10,000 depending on collection

Apple finally drops the curtain on its long-awaited Apple Watch, showing three distinct collections to suit everyone’s needs and lifestyles. The Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch and Apple Watch Edition will be available in 38mm and 42mm rectangular case sizing options and differ in materials, finishes and more importantly, price-points.

All three models come with accurate timekeeping, customizable watch faces, synchronization with iPhone devices, health and fitness tracking, an 18-hour battery life and integrated storage space for music files that can be played back via a Bluetooth headset. Here’s the low down on the three models:

Apple Watch Sport

Price: US$349 (38mm) and US$399 (42mm)

Apple Watch Sport features a lightweight anodized aluminum case in silver and space gray, with a Retina display protected by strengthened Ion-X glass and matching high-performance fluoroelastomer Sport Band in five colors. The straps are interchangeable for easy switch-ability.

Price: US$549 – $1,049 (38mm) and US$599 – US$1,099 (42mm), depending on choice of band

The Apple Watch collection features highly polished stainless steel and space black stainless steel cases with a Retina display protected by sapphire crystal. The Apple Watch collection comes with a choice of three different leather straps, a stainless steel link bracelet and Milanese loop, or a black or white Sport Band.

Apple Watch Edition

Price: US$10,000 and above

Apple Watch Edition will be the priciest of all and is akin to owning a luxury watch. The Apple Watch Edition features cases specially crafted from custom rose or yellow 18-karat gold alloys developed to be twice as hard as standard gold. The Retina display is protected by polished sapphire crystal and buyers can choose from uniquely designed straps and bands with 18-karat gold clasps, buckles or pins.
