FYI: The Okja trailer features a star-studded cast.
Deep in the mountains of South Korea lies two friends, a young farmer girl named Mija and her massive animal companion, Okja. However, their idyllic lives are turned upside down when a multinational corporation, fronted by CEO Lucy Mirando (Tilda Swinton), takes Okja away to be used as food produce–setting Mija on a harrowing journey to bring her friend back home.
The film stars several big names such as Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Dano, Steven Yeun, Lily Collins, as well as South Korean actor, Byun Heebong.
According to Netflix’s press release, Okja will make its debut at the 70th Cannes Film Festival. The festival is currently taking place from Wednesday, May 17 to Sunday, May 28.
Those interested can also catch the film on Netflix from Sunday, June 28 onwards in the comfort of their own homes.
