The Nike Air max 270 – a hybrid silhouette – features a slip-on construction with a breathable mesh upper in orange, black and red. One thing you’ll probably notice is its massive Air Max unit, which covers the entire heel.
The first of its kind, the U-shaped Air Max unit comes in transparent red and integrates into the shoe from the rear outsole to the lower heel.
Besides adding cushion, the exaggerated Air Max unit also adds greater stability to the shoe, much like the Air VaporMax unit.
A light foam forefoot makes up the rest of the midsole, with Hyperfuse mudguard on the toe and side panel. Other details include Air 270 branding on the tongue and ankle, double Nike Swoosh logos on the side, as well as a heel tab for easy wearing.
The shoe comes with an asymmetrical lacing system that is meant to provide a better fit, as well as more support and stability.
Like the Nike Air VaporMax Plus, the Air Max 270 will make its debut on Air Max Day 2018, which will probably take place in March (as it does every year). Next year’s festivities also mark the fifth anniversary of Air Max Day, reports Sneaker News.
Besides the “volcanic” colorway above, the Air Max 270 has also been spotted in a muted white and blue colorway, as well as in an olive color scheme. We assume more colorways will be available next year when the shoe eventually drops.
