Nike HyperAdapt Sneaker Will Cost You US$720

Despite its hefty price tag, the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 is heaps cheaper than the Nike Mag, another self-lacing sneaker.

HyperAdapt 1.0, Nike’s first adaptive lacing shoe for the general consumer, will be sold for US$720 from December 1st.

The extra cost goes into a heel sensor, cable lacing system, a motor that tightens and loosens said cable, and a rechargeable battery to power the motor and LED lights on the outsole.

Its bigger and more popular sibling, the Nike Mag, was launched via a donation drive and auctions in several cities, with the latter drawing a winning bid of US$200,000 in New York City last weekend.

This definitely makes the HyperAdapt a steal, though copping a pair won’t be easy either. Available in Black/White-Blue Lagoon and Metallic Silver/Black-White, the HyperAdapt will drop at Nike Soho and NIKE+ Clubhouse at New York’s 45 Grand.

Additionally, some NIKE+ members will have early access to cop the shoe on November 28th via the NIKE+ app. If you’re intent on getting a pair, your best bet would be a hook up from a friend living in The Big Apple.
